The Top 3 Things I Did to Ensure My Business was a Success

Last week I told you about a time when I almost gave up on my business, but didn’t, because someone believed in me.

In response, a follower commented:

“What frustrates me about these types of stories is that it’s the same thing…’I held on to hope and all of a sudden it just happened for me!’.... Knowing HOW is what I noticed many want to understand.”

I thought about her comment a lot this week.

And while I do accredit much of my success to ‘holding on’ and keeping a positive mindset, I’ve also reflected on HOW and WHAT I did to build a six-figure business.

Here are the top 3 things that worked for me:

#1 I stopped giving people options, and consolidated my packages into one unique offering.

When I gave people multiple options, it paralyzed them from making a decision. They wouldn’t pick anything. So I consolidated smaller packages into ONE amazing service (Personal Brand Accelerator). As a result, people were no longer confused by which choice to make. And because I communicated my value clearly and effectively, they were willing to pay a premium for it.

→ Now that I have multiple offerings, I give my potential client a recommendation based on what they need (making the decision process as easy as possible.)

#2 I stopped charging by the hour, and charged for the experience I was providing.

I slowly realized that people weren’t actually paying me for my time, they were paying me for the transformation my time could give them. Moving forward, that's how I priced my services. I asked: What is this desired outcome worth? What feels worth it to me?

#3 I stopped using marketing jargon and shared personal stories instead.

People embrace what they have discovered, and reject what they’ve been told. Tell a personal story that demonstrates the effectiveness of your offer without you having to tell them. Use “I” language instead of “you” language.

Embody the transformation that your product/service promises. This is far more powerful and less threatening. It’s also more vulnerable which is why a lot of people aren’t doing it yet ;)

If you want to learn how, sign up for Storytelling 101. It’s a mini (self-paced) course that will teach you how to write compelling stories and turn them into powerful videos for TikTok and Reels.

And lastly, I held on to hope. As an entrepreneur, you have to remember those high seasons of confidence in low seasons of doubt. Ride the wave, and keep fighting the good fight.

I believe in you.
